Hello and welcome to the Louisiana Association of Secretaries to Chiefs of Police website! My name is Mary Walls and I am the Secretary to the Chief of Police at Plaquemine Police Department, LA. I have been elected as the President of this Association for the 2024-2025 year, and I am excited to serve in this capacity. For current members visiting the website, you will be able to find up to date information on all of our upcoming events and conferences. You will also find our annual membership dues and conference registration forms, as well as our policy and procedure manual. The history of our Association is rich in tradition! Records of past conferences, board members, and photos are available for your viewing. For anyone visiting the website who is not a member yet, let me give you some history of our Association. The Louisiana Association of Secretaries to Chief of Police was founded by five secretaries, just like you. They were looking to strengthen their profession in the administration of law enforcement through training and networking with other secretaries throughout the State of Louisiana. Through a generous donation by the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police, where the Chiefs had the understanding of how important our roles are as secretaries along with the need to network with other agencies, our Association was born. The LASCP, as it is commonly known, has grown into a network that provides training, as well as making contacts that are beneficial to all agencies. Membership is not just for Secretaries to Chiefs of Police, but also for others who are in law enforcement, such as dispatchers or records clerks who can benefit from our training. The sisterhood found here is an invaluable resource to all its members. Please have a look at our website and if you are interested in becoming a member or have any questions, please email us at lasecretaries@gmail.com or you can call me at (225)-687-9273.
